Adjusting time and date:
Move curser to bottom of screen to view toolbar. A tool bar will pop up.
Click on the start button. Select settings then open control Panel and double click
on the “date and Time” icon. Please set the correct time zone then the date and time.
Once you have set the date and time, press the ok button on the top right of the window.
I tried to connect a USB device to my DS700 Netbook, but it would not detect it.
What have I done wrong?
Tip: When using external USB equipment, please be sure the Netbook is connected
with the AC adapter. USB devices that are powered by USB ports will increase
battery consumption.
Well, This is really quite the nice little piece of equipment!
I am VERY satisfied with mine. Please note that this CPU is an ARM processor, and is NOT able to run “normal” windows software. I knew this prior to purchase. The unit performs EXTREMELY well as a web surfer, and I have been able to enjoy watching video wherever I go, as the computer will easily fit into my pocket.
As an added benefit, boot up time is extremely fast, and the OS is esentially virus proof.

Answer:
Delstar is a Wholesale Distributor. We generally do not sell single units to the public.
Both Sears and Kmart have ongoing orders with us.
They are getting about 8 or 10 per month at various locations nationwide
and tend to sell out quickly. Certain locations will increase there monthly
quantities as we get closer to the Holidays.
There will be some online retailers carrying these soon as well.
Retail prices will vary.
I just purchase three of these netbooks for my kids to surf the internet. I am now learning that I will need to get windows xp so that run all the normal stuff. Is this computer capable of handling windows xp or vista?
Answer:
The DS700 cannot run on windows xp or vista operating system. These are netbook clients that must use a much smaller operating system that mainly just handles WIFI conectivity.

can my daughter access Facebook and Aim with this computer or is it pretty much just for surfing?
ANSWER:
There is a built-in Chat Client link that allows you to choose from a list of seven different messaging providers, such as: MSN, AIM, Yahoo, Google, ICQ, MySpace, and Facebook. However, the Delstar DS700 is not a PC. The Windows CE Operating System is a stripped down version of Windows that these units can manage. These Netbooks should be thought of more as a cell phone with WIFI connectivity and a nice, big keyboard. They may be able to handle certain apps and websites that are created for mobile device browsers and screen size. The netbooks cannot run many of the scripts and active x controls that a full version of Windows Internet Explorer does, so they do not have the ability to perform as such.

Can you run iTunes on this computer with the windows CE program?
ANSWER:
No. iTunes is too large. The DS700 cannot run such robust applications as this.

If you have been having trouble viewing Youtube, there is a fix! Go to

and get the update for your Delstar DS700 netbook youtube software. I got it, and it includes the excellent Skyfire web browser. Youtube plays in this browser beautifully!
The update installed without a hitch, thanks to the excellent step by step instructions they give on the website.
Decent hardware that needs a few fixes.
I previously used a Windows CE.Net 4.2 NEC Mobile Pro 900C for a year. I miss instant-on, and it is annoying to have to re-enter wireless information everytime I use the DS700. Also shortcuts for new applications don’t remain on the Start Menu after turning it off.
The matte LCD has better contrast and colors than most laptop screens and is a huge improvement over the screens on the old Handheld PCs. The trackpad and keyboard on the DS700 work fine, though I also miss the smaller form factor allowed by a wide touch screen. 2GB is plenty of storage for Windows CE, but more RAM would be useful.
The DS700 circuit boards show E790 part numbers which probably refers to the similar MenQ EasyPC E790.
Can I use Microsoft Word on this device? It would be perfect for me if it could do that.
ANSWER:
Sorry, the Windows CE operating system cannot run Microsoft Word. But, the DS700 comes with a word processor that you can create a document and then convert it for use in MS Word.
To get it to instant on and save shortcuts do not turn off using the start button below the screen. Go to the lower left corner and click on the widows logo and then suspend.
i am 12 and i am on this netbook writing this reveiw i got this product in december as a second computer for school and its great for 150 bux.

it would be really great if there was a way to flash the bios to run android instead of windows ce 4.
Took my first DS700 back to the store thinking it was defective… (The box had been opened before I bought it.) Glad I checked your site.
It’s a decent little netbook at a reasonable price in a very competitive business. I look forward to your updates and patches as they become available.
In the meantime, it’s a nice alternative to my 8.9″ Acer when I want something small and light to take with me.
